Yes there are Mullanes in Killorglin – mostly from 1825 – 1847. Just check the names on in the Church Records section. Very simply enter the name ‘Mullane’ and the location ‘Killorglin – nothing else and go down to SEARCH,
Sorry I can’t help you with the Clare query, I specialise in Kerry only.

Patricia, thank you for your comment. As you are arriving in Killarney in a week’s time, it doesn’t give a real opportunity to find descandants in that space of time. I would suggest that you go into Killarney Library while you are there and ask to see the local Register of Electors – the last one issued. Also enquire from the librarian on duty if she could refer you to any older citizens who might be actiee in local history in the area. You will probably find lots of ‘O’Callaghans’ in the register so you will need a bit more direction. Kay

Janina, it is not possible to research a birth within a hundred years. Due to data protection, we cannot access births after 1915 (of course it should be 1917 but the ‘powers that be’ haven’t caught up with that yet. Your best bet is when you visit Ireland, go to the General Register Office in Werburgh St., Dublin. Be prepared to put in some time if as you say, the birth was not registered until after the actual time. You can purchase a Day Pass for €20 and go through all the Birth books from 1913 (apx) and see if there is a Brigid Foley registered in the Registration District of Killarney. Keel is an unusual one – keep an eye out for Brigid Foley in the Dingle registrations just in case.
      Best of luck, Kay
