I am indebted to-day to the work of Joe Buggy and Shane Wilson for some great links for Kerry Researchers. Joe and Shane have collaborated in launching an Irish Directories Database. and here we have a list of the RIC Barracks in Kerry in the late 1800s.
For instance did you know that we had 55 Royal Irish Constabulary Stations endeavouring to keep the peace in Kerry alone at that time?. It would be interesting to find out how many Garda stations we have now, one hundred and twenty four years later.

Excellent, Kay.
Thank you, feedback always appreciated.
the names of the old ric barracks are one thing, but their individual stories are the icing on the cake!!
Found this page in google search. I own the house that was formerly the RIC barracks in Ballinillane. And note it’s spelled with double L twice !!
The eircode for the site is V93A6F5 these days
Barry, that is very interesting. Do you have any stories about its former life? Kay
